Period of PURPLE Crying
The Period of PURPLE Crying is the period in a baby's life when they cry more than any other time, usually beginning at two weeks until 3-4 months of age. The crying can seem unsoothable and can be very frustrating for parents.
PURPLE is an acronym that helps explain patterns for infant crying: Peak, Unpredictability, Resistant, Pain, Long periods, and Evening.
At Trios Birth Center, our nurses help to educate you on the Period of PURPLE Crying and what to do if you are experiencing it with your baby.
