Trios Health Names Jeanette McLerran as DAISY Award® for Extraordinary Nurses Recipient

Trios Health is pleased to announce that Jeanette McLerran, a Registered Nurse, has been named as a recipient for The DAISY Award® for Extraordinary Nurses by Trios Health.
Jeanette has been an RN at Trios Health since 2023 and began working in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and is currently working in the surgical unit.
“It is with great pride that we recognize Jeanette, with the DAISY Award®, for her compassionate care and dedication to our patients in the surgical unit,” said Lori Katterhagen, Trios Chief Nursing Officer. “Jeanette embodies the very essence of nursing excellence and connects with patients on a deeply personal level, while consistently delivering the highest quality of nursing care. She truly embodies the spirit of this award.”
Jeanette was nominated by a patient’s family member, who shared, “Our adult son with special needs was admitted to the hospital. With complicated medical conditions plus his severe Autism, it was very challenging. We were so blessed to have Jeanette be assigned to us over the few weeks he was there, as she provided exceptional care.
Jeanette was able to be a comfort to him and the trust that was built was crucial to his recovery and being discharged. As a parent of a special needs person, having medical staff see the whole person is so important. She was able to balance the care plan provided by the doctors with always keeping his overall well-being in mind. To our family she was our guardian angel and we will never forget her.”
The DAISY Award® is an international program started in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, whose family experienced first-hand the difference his nurses made in his care through clinical excellence and compassionate care. The family created The DAISY Award® to express gratitude to nurses and to enable other patients, families, and staff to thank and honor their special nurses.
