Trios Home Health Care Acquired by Cornerstone Health Care
July 2, 2018
The Kennewick Public Hospital District (KPHD) today announced that it has signed an agreement with Iron Bridge Healthcare, Inc. d/b/a Columbia River Home Health, a local affiliate of home health, hospice, and home care services provider Cornerstone Healthcare, Inc., to sell the Trios Home Health Care operations for $1.1 million. The transaction closed today.
KPHD emerged from Chapter 9 bankruptcy on June 20, which paved the way for Trios Health’s acquisition by RCCH Healthcare. The acquisition, expected to close sometime in late July or early August, does not include Trios Home Health Care.
"Home Health has been a wonderful service for our patients recovering from surgery and injury in the comfort of their home by skilled care givers," said Scott Landrum, Trios Health's interim chief executive officer. "We are pleased that the services will continue for the Tri-Cities and with Iron Bridge, which has confirmed its commitment to our home health employees, patients, and local community to maintain the excellent standard of care we've offered."
"We are grateful to continue the legacy of high quality, patient-centered care established by Trios Health," said Eric Wise, Executive Director of Iron Bridge. "We are excited about the team of talented caregivers who are joining us from Trios," Mr. Wise continued, "We look forward to serving the Tri-Cities area under the name Columbia River Home Health as we seek to fulfill our mission of providing life changing home health services to our patients and their families."
Trios Home Health Care employs 10 registered nurses, 4 physical therapists, 1 occupational therapist and 3 support and administrative staff to deliver in-home care to over 12,800 patient visits each year. All current employees have been offered positions with Cornerstone or the option to stay on at Trios Health in alternative roles, for which they must be qualified, following the sale.
